The Push Foundation plans to implement support for reacting to messages on app.push.org
Abstract
We propose enabling reactions via emojis on chat messages on app.push.org
Motivation
Chat and reactions go hand in hand. It allows users to participate in a chat discussion without the need to type a reply. It also evokes emotions in both the sender and receiver of the chat making the chatting more helpful, social and engaging.
Specification
Overview
The new feature will be enabled for the users by updating the frontend to allow them to react to messages via reactions.
Since this is a frontend adoption, the only trade-off of this implementation is a slightly longer time to load messages if a particular message has been reacted by a ton of users. It also increases the complexity of the dApp.
This is Pre-PIP #2, the second-ever from the Push Foundation to the Push Community at-large.
As a reminder, Pre-PIPs are a new initiative to involve the community more deeply in what the Push Foundation does on its end of the Push ecosystem. They matter because they’re a step forward in this respect, allowing for discussion and sharing of sentiment, directly, before initiatives the Push Foundation is taking are put into action.
Let your voice be heard and remember, this is but one step towards greater and greater decentralization of the Push Ecosystem!
I support re-PIP: 2 as it will enhance user engagement on app.push.org by enabling emoji reactions to chat messages. This update will make interactions more dynamic and expressive, significantly improving the overall user experience.
