Summary

This proposal is designed to provide an opportunity for outstanding Push India Ambassadors to engage with the Ethereum ecosystem and represent Push Protocol at Devcon 7 and ETH Bangkok, Thailand.

Specification

The Devcon Scholarship Program is focused on enabling participants to explore the possibilities of Ethereum and Push Protocol through their own experiences, skills, and various levels of blockchain knowledge.

The Devcon Scholarship is a one-week program that allows participants to leverage web3 technologies and values. This offers an incredible opportunity for ambassadors to build, receive feedback, and gain guidance in activities that will transform their understanding of web3’s potential.

Justification

The Devcon Scholarship Program aims to extend the impact of the Ethereum Foundation’s original efforts by providing an expense-paid trip to the Devcon conference and ETH Bangkok for 2 Push India ambassadors. The Scholarship will provide sustainable support to selected scholars so that they can enter and stay within the Ethereum community.

Currently, the India Ambassador Program has 10 active ambassadors, who are active within the Push ecosystem, and continue to provide value in many ways. We would like to extend this opportunity to them, as it will allow them to gain invaluable skills and experience by being able to attend one of the most important Ethereum ecosystem events of the year.

Additionally, as residents of India, they can apply for a Builder Discount ticket to the conference through three methods:

  1. Manual Application — application form: Submit your ID via our encrypted Secure-Drop portal. Same review process, same likelihood of acceptance.
  2. SEA Residents — zkPassport: Use your Passport & Zero-Knowledge proofs to prove SEA residency, which can help qualify you for a Local Builder Discount.
  3. Indian Residents — AnonAahdhaar: Use your Aadhaar card & Zero-Knowledge Proofs to prove Indian residency, which can help qualify you for Local Builder Discount.

Ambassadors applying for this opportunity must:

  • Fill out the Push DAO application form (for developers, designers, project managers, marketing specialists, etc.).
  • Post a tweet tagging @Push_DAO, @pushprotocol & @EFDevcon and using the hashtag #PushIndiaRoadToDevcon.
  • Rank highly on the Zealy leaderboard in September.
  • Apply for the Builder Discount ticket.
  • Register for ETH Global Bangkok and participate in a team using Push Protocol products.
  • Document their participation on social media before, during, and after the event.

The winner(s) will receive a scholarship of $1,000 in $PUSH tokens to cover flight, accommodation, and event entry.

Scholars will receive mentorship and support throughout the process from Carla, our DAO Ecosystem Lead, who will help them become significant contributors and leaders in the Ethereum ecosystem.

Key Dates

  • Application Deadline: October 4th.
  • Winners Announcement: October 11th.
  • Scholarship Period: November 11th to November 18th.

Key Performance Indicators

  1. Number of builders interested in the Push Ambassador Program.
  2. Number of projects integrating Push Protocol at ETH Global Bangkok.
  3. Growth in social media (followers, likes, comments, and shares) from ambassador content on Twitter and Medium.
  4. Presentation of the results of our scholars program in the Devcon forum.

I want to thank the DAO Council for this amazing opportunity. @Anoy and I have been contributing to the Ethereum and Push Protocol ecosystem for a long time. We’ve worked together from day one, participating in all hackathons as a team, and He won 14 hackathons and I won 11 Hackathons.

We are excited to showcase our skills at the Devcon 7 and ETH Global Bangkok hackathons. We can’t wait for the results and look forward to giving our best!

One question: Why isn’t the Devcon Scholarship Program available for ambassadors from the Latam and Africa hubs?

We love seeing you motivated and supporting more builders to grow in the infinite garden and build with Push products :purple_heart:

@Jose The main reason is that Devcon this year will take place on the same continent as India, and this program as it’s an expense-paid trip it’s more affordable to get travel options for our India ambassadors. Additionally, as mentioned in the proposal Devcon offers discounts for Indian residents.

We hope to continue supporting builders from all over the world at future events, and of course, we look forward to providing exclusive opportunities for our ambassadors.

Can’t wait to see the results of this program.

GM Push DAO,

This is a great opportunity for India Push Ambassodors. thank you for this. I have applied for the Road to Devcon scholarship. and I am excited about it. i have been into this ecosystem for the past 2 years starting with solidity and later exploring other ecosystems and building and contributing towards it.

I have joined the Push as a Push builder. and have been here for over 5 months. would love to represent Push at Devcon as well as Eth Bangkok. as I have been already approved.

I hope we can implement a similar program for events on other continents in the future.

GM! This program is only available to the India cohort because they’re the nearest to the venue of Devcon 2024, Bangkok, and the rationale is what @Carlaupgrade wrote in this post.

In the next Devcon, we can support another cohort of ambassadors.
